John was thrilled to join Neil Young's 'LOVE EARTH' North American tour as opener with Reverend Billy & The Stop Shopping Choir . They performed 16 dates from CA to NY, and Canada, singing nightly for upwards of 20,000 people.
John was very excited to be invited to participate in a workshop of Zora Neale Hurston's play 'Spunk' at Yale Repertory Theatre as part of the music creative team. Directed by Tamilla Woodard, with music composed by Nehemiah Luckett.
Run Bambi Run had its wildly successful world premiere as part of Milwaukee Rep's 2023-24 season! With music and lyrics by Gordon Gano of Violent Femmes and a book by Eric Simonson (Lombardi), the production was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. John was awarded the Joe Allard Arts Commission in the UK for songwriting, and performed to a sold-out house at the Colchester Arts Centre in Dec 2023. He debuted two new songs written for the occasion.

Getting to tour the US and Europe with Yemandja in 2022 was an absolute honor. Co-conceived and starring the Beninese global pop legend Angelique Kidjo, it tells a story of unity and healing through the troubled history of the West African slave trade in the 1800s. John played the principal role of Mr. DeSalta. Yemandja had its world premiere at MassMOCA, with further performances at The Broad Theater in Santa Monica, CA, Cal Performances in Berkeley, CA, The Kennedy Center in DC, and Amsterdam, The Netherlands as part of the Holland Festival.

John was among 5 singers who recorded at BBC's Radio Four for Loose Ends, with Clive Anderson and Stephen Fry.
